Whether you are going to a wedding, function, or out on the town, this class will help you join in on the fun.  Learn the proper footwork, lead & follow, & styling so you can gain the confidence to get out of your chair and on to the dance floor. Every week children will be introduced to a new sport including basketball, baseball, soccer, and floor hockey. Each class will incorporate age-appropriate skills, within a structured coaching environment, to help develop coordination, agility and in still a love of team play in each child. With the children playing a number of different sports, you will see a progression in their catching, throwing, kicking and basic coordination abilities. TOT & YOUTHFor participants with little or no formal skating instruction, our group skating classes teach skating basics in a fun and comfortable environment. Skaters will be grouped by age and/or ability if possible. Prerequisites for Wednesday's Tot is for 4-6 years and Youth is for 6-15 years. ALL participants must be potty trained and capable of independently wearing a mask, social distancing and following directions.  TEEN/ADULTIt’s never too late to learn how to skate! Participants 16 years and older are invited to learn to skate or enhance skating skills in a fun and comfortable environment. Skaters will be grouped by age/or ability if possible. Prerequisites: For participants 16 years and older. BE PREPARED FOR CLASS-All participants will need to comply with FMC Ice Sports COVID Guidelines at https://fmcicesports.com/covid-19-guidelines. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques.  They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging Yoga poses and Yoga games. Jamie Houde has been practicing Yoga for over 5 years and the practice has helped her grow within all aspects of life.  She received her Children’s Yoga certification through Open Door Yoga studio in Weymouth MA. 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM    Meryl's Music Class - Meryl's Music Class Session 2
Meryl’s Music Class is 45 minutes of singing, dancing, instrument play and chants. This is a mixed ages class from 1 to 5 years so families can all attend together without having to get childcare for one of the kids. Research has shown that music learning supports all areas of learning and informal, developmentally appropriate music activities are the best way for children under 6 to gain basic music competence! Parent participation is required.Includes a full length CD of all the music we will be experiencing during the class. * Infant siblings (under 11 months) come for free with a paid child***Please note that at this time instruments will not be brought by the instructor. This program teaches kids the basics of basketball in an exciting environment.  Kids will be taught fundamental basketball skills as well as participate in fun games using previously learned skills. Looking for a yoga experience that will make you feel fabulous? Under the guidance of our certified instructor, Jayne Sutton, you will explore stretches and postures designed to open up your entire body. The Manomet Youth Center will be hosting three Friday night "Parties" this Fall. They are open to everyone and membership is NOT required. In addition to the specialized activities at each of the parties, kids will also have the opportunity to hang out in the common room, and challenge each other to matches of ping-pong, pool and air hockey! During pizza time, children will be spread out throughout the facility allowed them to eat socially distant from their peers.  Equipment will be sanitized, and there will be hand sanitizing units throughout the facility. HALLOWEEN PARTYThe evening will include: pizza, drinks, treats and Halloween themed games in the gym. Make sure you dress your best for this event, we will be giving out costume prizes!VIDEO GAME NIGHTWe will have video game tournaments all night! Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, and more! Meryl’s Music Class is 45 minutes of singing, dancing, instrument play and chants. This is a mixed ages class from 1 to 5 years so families can all attend together without having to get childcare for one of the kids. Research has shown that music learning supports all areas of learning and informal, developmentally appropriate music activities are the best way for children under 6 to gain basic music competence! Parent participation is required.Includes a full length CD of all the music we will be experiencing during the class. * Infant siblings (under 11 months) come for free with a paid child***Please note that at this time instruments will not be brought by the instructor. Participants can bring their own instruments or purchase an instrument kit for $30 from the instructor for class.1) Something to shake (small container with rice, beans, dry pasta)2) Something that clicks when tapped together (wooden spoons, dowels, blocks)3) Something flow-ey to dance with (scarf, pillowcase, silk ribbons, handkerchief) 4) Something that dings (bells of any sort, metal bowl or water bottle to strike) 5) Something to snuggle (stuffed animal)6) Kitchen "drums" or other things to strike for the play along (Tupperware, recycled containers of different shapes and sizes)My set has: 2 egg shakers, 2 sets of rhythm sticks, 2 scarves, a ribbon streamer, a wrist jingle bell in a reusable shopping bag.**It's important that the adults have things to play as well, so not just one of everything for the child.A purchased kit will include: 2 egg shakers, 2 sets of rhythm sticks, 2 scarves, a ribbon streamer, a wrist jingle bell in a reusable shopping bag. Looking for a yoga experience that will make you feel fabulous? Under the guidance of our certified instructor, Jayne Sutton, you will explore stretches and postures designed to open up your entire body. TOT & YOUTHFor participants with little or no formal skating instruction, our group skating classes teach skating basics in a fun and comfortable environment. Skaters will be grouped by age and/or ability if possible. Prerequisites for Wednesday's Tot is for 4-6 years and Youth is for 6-15 years. ALL participants must be potty trained and capable of independently wearing a mask, social distancing and following directions.  TEEN/ADULTIt’s never too late to learn how to skate! Participants 16 years and older are invited to learn to skate or enhance skating skills in a fun and comfortable environment. Skaters will be grouped by age/or ability if possible. Prerequisites: For participants 16 years and older. BE PREPARED FOR CLASS-All participants will need to comply with FMC Ice Sports COVID Guidelines at https://fmcicesports.com/covid-19-guidelines. (Currently participants are required to wear face coverings)-Participants learn falling down and getting up the first week; Help your skaters with this first lesson by viewing our instructional video and working with participants before you arrive:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF5uPzEEY8Y&feature=youtu.be  -A helmet, such as a bike helmet or HECC helmet, is required and must be provided by the participant-Please label the helmet with First Name, Last Initial on the front with painter’s tape before arriving-Wear warm, comfortable layers that allow for movement, long sleeves and pants, gloves or mittens; Young skaters should wear waterproof clothing and gloves-Rental skates are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are included in the class fee-Participants are welcome to bring their own skates although double blade skates are not permitted-Still have questions?
